The Machshava Mastery Program is a special track of study for students seeking to learn about the lives of our greatest Jewish philosophers and the major philosophical questions which they have grappled with from the medieval period till today.

Schedule:
When are live classes held?
Live classes usually take place evenings Israel time.
What if I miss a live class?
All classes are recorded in video or audio-only formats and available for download around 12 hours after each class.
Can I do the entire program through the archived recordings?
Yes, and the teachers are always available for direct consultation as you make your way through the archives.

Knowledge & Commitment:
What kind of background knowledge is expected of students?
Lecturers will assume that students have basic Jewish knowledge, including some basic knowledge of Jewish thought, but they will not assume that students have a strong background in Jewish thought, they will not assume that students have previously studied Jewish thought in any academic setting, and they will not assume that students have previously studied the primary sources of Jewish philosophers.
What level of Hebrew is needed?
A basic working understanding of Hebrew is desired.
Are there tests?
Students who are interested in receiving a certificate must pass a midterm and final exam.
How much time per week will this take me?
Each class is an hour. Outside class time depends on a student’s desire to deepen his knowledge of the material and prepare for the midterm and final.
What happens when a student finishes the entire program?
Students who complete all six courses receive a certificate.
What are the requirements for a certificate?
Accepted students may take classes without doing tests. However, students who wish to graduate the program and receive a certificate must 1) Attend each class in a course either live or by recording. 2) Complete and pass a midterm and final for each course.
Do I have access to teachers outside of class?
Yes. Mostly by email.

Do you offer scholarships or discounts?
Unfortunately there are no scholarships. However, if you commit to the entire program the price is discounted. See our tuition page HERE for more information.
