Asking a non-Jew to Violate Shabbat

Throughout the length and breadth of Torah, we are prohibited from asking a non-Jew to do whatever we are prohibited from doing.

We will begin with the general principle as it applies to neutering animals at any time during the week and then apply the principle to specific questions related to Shabbat, such as removing the light bulb from a refrigerator on Shabbat so that the door can be opened and closed without violating Shabbat.

Sources are available through the links in both WORD format and pdf. In class we will translate and explain these sources.
