The Prophecy of the Prophets
We are taught in Talmud and Zohar that each prophesy in the Torah was an extraction of the prophetic voice of Moshe. It was a pathway to guide others. Join Rabbi Avraham Shira for an exploration of the various prophetic language, milieu, social and cultural status, as gateways to glimpse his prophetic channel. This course will conclude each week with special meditations related to the weekly lessons.

The Prophecy of the Prophets: The Prophecy of the Prophets
Shalom and welcome to a new Zman on Webyeshiva. This zman we will explore some of the teachings and context of the prophecies of our prophets, both from a cultural, technical and kabbalistic perspective. Can any two men practice the same spiritual technique and achieve similar results? Why does each prophet introduce his prophecy differently? What are the subtleties of language that key us into the type or level of each prophecy? How much does the prophet’s life, activities and behavior shape his prophetic experience? How do such teachings help us get closer to Hashem and true service?
I hope to see you there tonight, 8pm Jerusalem, and look forward to another zman of thursday night meditations on our material.

The Prophecy of the Prophets: The Prophecy of the Prophets
Shalom and Welcome. Tonight we will examine the prophecy of Noah, the second prophet to appear in the Torah. As our attention to the language of the experience of Noah, and other prophecies, heightens, we see some unexpected phrases that reveal the difficulties Noah faced. The text announces how great is Noah, and how evil is his generation. God warns Noah several times of the destruction, and what He will do, and what Noah must do to save himself and his family. And not a word of protest from Noah? Did he not think to pray for the generation? How can he be a tzakik yesod olam and not pray for his people? What did Noah know? Why does God not mention the generation again? Perhaps there are things the Torah does not want us to know? Even a prophet? Are we ready for such limitations?
Look forward to seeing all of you on Webyeshiva.org, 8pm. Jerusalem

The Prophecy of the Prophets: The Prophecy of the Prophets
Shalom, this week we will look at the prophetic ‘method’ of David haMelech. This, i believe is a ‘spiritual formula’ for all generations. it is embedded in the process and words of the king in sefer Tehilim. We will examine psalm 32' and its teachings of how the king addresses Gd, and where he begins the process of returning to Hashem, and how that process activates the favor, mercy and restoration before God of all us long for, whether secretly or not, to the intimate relationship with God that we all desire.
Look forward to seeing you there.

The Prophecy of the Prophets: The Prophecy of the Prophets
Tonight on Webyeshiva, we will learn alittle of Devora, as a prophetess and mother of israel. How does a woman achieve such status, higher than any man in her society, more respected and assumedly revered than the traditional male prophets who were often derided, if not outright rebelled against, or even murdered? What made her different? And how was her generation similar to ours.
Why a woman and not a male messenger to bring the people back to God? What qualities did she have to catapult her to this special place in our historY?
join us tonight at 8pm jerusalem time.
Always, Avraham

Who was Serach bat Asher? Why was she chosen to revive the patriarch? How did she do it? What gifts did Setrach have to rewnew the life of Yacov Avinu? How did she disguise her prophetic gift? Does this type of thing happen today? Why is her song called 'Ru'ach hakodesh? and not others?

The Prophecy of the Prophets: The Prophecy of the Prophets
Shalom and Welcome. Tonight we will look at the prophets El Dad and Mei Dad–
‘When Prophets Disagree.’ (and Rabbis, as well). And how Moshe Rabbeinu dealt with the ‘problem’ when other prophets disagreed with each other.
Moshe’s response is not only an answer ‘back in the day’, but for today as well. Look forward to seeing you there.

The Prophecy of the Prophets: The Prophecy of the Prophets
Shalom and blessings.
Tonight on Web Yeshiva, we will consider Natan haNavi, one of the prophets who served in the time of King David. We will look at the famous ‘allegory of ‘the King, the Poor Man and the Lamb’ and how the prophet uses this ‘literary device’ and how it relates the statement of the Talmud that an allegory, or mashal in Hebrew, is 1/60th of Divine Inspiration and why the ‘story’ is the appropriate vehicle to deliver such a message to the King. Furthermore, Rabbi Nachman’s teaching on how a person can be punished with or without his knowledge helps us further understand how the mechanism of human speech is one of the ways Hashem communicates to us, ‘whether we know it or not.’
Looking forward to being with you this evening.

Welcome. Tonight on Webyehiva we will explore the prophet Aharon hakohen and his brother M9she, focusing on the distinctions of their levels of perception of God, their uniqueness from other prophets, and their similarities. Why does God tell Moshe Rabeinu that you will be a God to Aharon, and he will be your prophet? What changed in their relationship and experience?
Come join us and look within this holy inner circle.
