Hello Everyone,
“Korech” is an interesting part of the Seder. “Korech” means “wrap” and perhaps it dates back to a time when the matzot were flexible like pita bread and crunchy like crackers. In any event whether one uses soft matzot or crunchy matzot , after having eaten a piece of matzah and piece of marror, one makes a sandwich of matzah and marror. After making this sandwich, one says, “Zecher l’mkdash k’Hillel..”- “In commemoration pf the practice of Hillel in the Temple” and then one eats this sandwich.
Why are we commemorating this Passover sandwich eaten by Hillel? We will learn about this today.
