Last week we began our discussion of the story of the prophet Yonah. We focussed on the first chapter of the book. Why did Yonah run away from God? What did he hope to achieve by running away? The book of Yonah is full of enigmas and unanswered questions like the ones we saw last week.
Today we will focus on the last chapter of the book. The book ends with Yonah telling God that he would prefer death, now that God forgave the people of Nineveh. Why? We will see some attempts to answer this and the other questions regarding Yonah’s relationship with God.
