In this 3-part series, we will study in depth a few key passages of Megilat Esther together with the aggadah–the midrashic (non-halachic) material — of the Amoraim, which is found within the gemara of Masechet Megilah.
In this session, we will study the section of the aggadah in the gemara where it explains how Haman arrived at his scheme against the Jews of the Persian kingdom. Then we will begin studying the section on how he convinced the king to go along with this scheme.
The verses in the Megila that are relevant to this part of the aggadah are: chapter 3, verses 1-11. You are welcome to look them over before the class.
