Businesses dealing with non-kosher foods

It is prohibited to sell prohibited food.

We will survey the sources of this prohibition and the opinion of the poskim in applying it.

Can a producer of kosher chickens market the occasional prohibited chickens that were improperly slaughtered? After all, not even the best ritual slaughterers are perfect; they occasionally make mistakes.

Can a kosher grocery store carry non-kosher merchandise to attract non-Jewish customers?

Can you work in a non-kosher restaurant or for a distributor of non-kosher food?

Can you own shares in a corporation that markets prohibited food?

Primary sources are available through the links in both WORD format and pdf. In class we will translate and explain these sources.
