The Yud Gimmel Midot

The Gemara tells us that Hashem made a covenant with us. The covenant is that when we say these “thirteen attributes” of God our prayers will not be unanswered.

These thirteen attributes are a central portion of the Selichot prayers that we say during Elul and throughout Yom Kippur. Join Rabbi Dr. Stuart Fischman and study the interpretations given for these “attributes” by the commentators.

Hello Everyone,
Welcome to these two sessions on the subject of the Yud Gimmel Middot. The Yud Gimmel Middot are an essential portion of the Selichot prayers that we during the days preceding Rosh Hashana, during the Aseret Yomei Teshuva and on Yom Kippur itself.
What are these Yud Gimmel Middot? Why are they so significant? I hope to answer these and other questions in these two sessions.

Rabbi Dr. Stuart Fischman

Rabbi Dr. Stuart Fischman graduated from Yeshiva University in 1980 and the dental school of Columbia University in 1985. In 1989 he began studying and teaching at Yeshivat Hamivtar and now studies and teaches at Yeshivat Machanaim in Efrat. He has rabbinic ordination from Rav Zalman Nechemia Goldberg.
