Rambam's Sefer HaMada

Rambam's Sefer HaMada

Join Rabbi Dovid Ebner for this special Yeshivat Hamivtar alumni series: A close reading of selected chapters covering all 5 sections of Rambam’s Sefer HaMada (Book of Knowledge). The goals are pedagogical in terms of actually plumbing the depths of Rambam’s thought through a close reading of the text. For example, what does it mean to command the love of God or of our fellow man… or what is the ideal of human character and how can it be accomplished. The course is not a discussion group – it is, rather, an attempt to understand what Rambam maintains by weighing and analyzing his words carefully and precisely.
