Purim the Holiday of Joy

Purim the Holiday of Joy

Purim is the holiday of joy. It is the only holiday in which we are encouraged to get drunk and is also the holiday with its own book, although this book makes no mention of God’s name. Join Rabbi Dr. Stuart Fischman and see what the legendary Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berditchev taught us about Purim.

Class description

Hello Everyone,

Purim is the “Holiday of Joy.” It is the only holiday in which there is a mitzvah to get drunk. It would come as no surprise that the Chasidic teachers have written about the joy associated with Purim. In these two sessions we will talk about the Purim teachings of perhaps the most beloved of all Chasidic teachers, Rabbi Levi-Yitzchak of Berditchev   .
