Making Hot Drinks on Shabbat: Making Hot Drinks on Shabbat
Hello Everyone
The subject of “Hot Drinks on Shabbat” is not a simple one. The question of may these drinks be prepared on Shabbat requires us to address how they are prepared and how the Halacha relates to various drinks.
So in these three sessions I hope to explain first how the drinks are prepared, and then to discuss specifically two types of hot beverages, coffee and tea. I hope that after participating in these three sessions everyone will have a better understanding of the issues involved in making hot drinks on Shabbat.

Hello Everyone,
Today we will talk about making coffee on Shabbat. We will discuss making both “regular” coffee and instant coffee because the halacha treats them differently ( for reasons that we will explain).
If you have not heard last week’s class on the basic halachot of cooking on Shabbat I strongly urger that you listen to the class on the archives of the Web Yeshiva. If you do not listen to last week’s class I am afraid that you will not fully understand what we study today.
