In this course Rabbi Yehoshua Geller will cover the following topics: Managing the kosher kitchen – meat and milk, forbidden mixtures, bugs and blood, and an overview of standards and hechsherim.

Please note that I have attached the sources for preparation. This week we will talk about Kosher milk; Chalav Yisrael and Chalav Akum. Last week we had a brief introduction. Over the next few months, I hope to discuss the following topics: -The prohibition of Basar B’Chalav (origin, definitions, Torah/Rabbinic prohibitions, etc), General Halachot of Meat & Milk -Maris Ayin, Mixtures (Bitul b’shishim, ta’am lifgam, etc) , Nat bar Nat (cooking with dairy/pareve/meat utensils and pots) , Knives, Charif -Definitions of Heat, Baking Meat & Milk, cold Meat & Milk. Rabbi Yehoshua Geller received Smicha from Rav Mordechai Elefant zt"l and the ITRI Yeshiva, where he was a Talmid for many years. He served as the Rosh Beit Medrash of the English Speakers' Program at the Jerusalem College of Technology/Machon Lev, Rabbi Geller has also taught at Yeshivat Yam HaTalmud and Yeshivat Hamivtar. Rabbi Geller holds an M.A. in Hebrew Studies.
