In last week’s shiur we started getting to know our first main character Shaul. Gd articulates how he is the best of the Jewish people, and he has many amazing qualities like sensitivity, respect for others, and humility. But what happens if you take those qualities to an extreme? We saw Shaul’s first major mistake when he did not wait for Shmuel, like Hashem had asked, before bringing the Karbanot in Gilgal and the impact that has on his kingdom. Tonight we will learn the second major sin,, when he is told to wipe out Amalek and fails a second time. We will then out the story of Shaul on pause to begin on the richest sefarim in all Tanach-Megillat Esther! There we will be introduced to many important characters and appreciate their strengths and weaknesses as well.

As we learned in last weeks shur, Esther is now ready to go to Achashverosh to beg for the lives of her people. What will be so amazing tonight, is seeing how exactly that part of the story unfolds! Why does she make a party instead of just asking? Why would she invite Haman to that party? Things are clearly not what they seem as we learn the next few mo
