Ethiopian Jewish Law

Ethiopian Jewish Law

According to the Beta Israel Ethiopian Jewish community, they are the descendants of the tribe of Dan who self-exiled themselves to Ethiopia before the destruction of the 1st Temple and remained isolated. When they arrived in Israel starting in the 1980s the contrast between their practices and those of traditional Jews became clearly evident. Join Rabbi Johnny Solomon and explore some of the differences, and some of the ways in which they have either been denounced, disregarded, accommodated or adopted.
