Rosh Hashanah, perhaps more than other holidays, possesses a rich and fascinating collection of customs. The title of these two sessions is “Top Ten Halachot.” But in two sessions there are only 120 minutes. It would be impossible to do justice to 10 halachot in120 minutes. So in each session we will discuss two or three halachot and customs of the holiday. I hope that we will get a better appreciation for what we are doing on Rosh Hashanah through our study.
In today’s opening meeting we will talk about three things: when is the shofar blown during the prayer service, eating an apple dipped in honey and the Tashlich prayer.
