Medical Issues on Chol Hamoed

Medical Issues on Chol Hamoed: Medical Issues on Chol ha-Mo’ed
Class description

Is dental surgery permitted on Chol ha-Moed?

Can you engage in physiotherapy on Chol ha-Moed?

What about routine dental or medical examinations?

Medical therapy, like taking antibiotics, vitamins, or other supplements, is of course permitted in life-threatening cases. Is this permitted in cases where there is suffering but no threat to life?

Is there a distinction between treating a disease and prophylaxis (i.e., preventative medicine)?

A Hebrew source sheet is available through the links both in WORD format and pdf. In class we will translate and explain these sources.
