Halakhic Hebrew (Hebrew of the poskim)

Hebrew has been in constant use since Biblical times yet depending on the context, a modern Hebrew speaker may not necessarily find Rabbinic Hebrew completely understandable. In this course with Rabbi Dovid Fink explore the grammar and vocabulary of Rabbinic Hebrew as used by the Rishonim in the Middle Ages and the Acharonim in modern times.
Halakhic Hebrew (Hebrew of the poskim): Halakhic Hebrew (Hebrew of the poskim)
In our first class, we will begin with halachic texts. I have selected a number of texts by leading rabbanim; we will study these texts word-by-word with an eye to gaining grammatical, lexical, and syntactic skills necessary for independent reading.
In our ongoing classes, we will focus on aggadic (midrashic) texts and exegesis (commentaries).
Texts are available through the link.
