When Rosh Hashanah Falls on Shabbat: When Rosh Hashanah Falls on Shabbat Event
Hello Everyone,
This year the first day of Rosh Hashanah falls on Shabbat. The most noticeable consequence of this calendrical coincidence is the silence of the shofar. When Rosh Hashanah falls on Shabbat we do not blow the shofar. We will see a teaching of the great Chasidic sage, the Shem miShmuel (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shem_Mishmuel) who explains why the Sages saw fit to decree not to blow the shofar on Rosh Hashanah which falls on Shabbat.
