Hello Everyone,

I am writing to welcome you to our two sessions on the Halakhot of Shatnez the Torah’s prohibition of mixing wool and linen in garments ( and in cushions, pillows and mattresses as well in certain circumstances).

Shatnez is one of the Torah’s “חוקים”- mitzvot whose rationale we cannot fully comprehend. In these two sessions I will not discuss the ideas that our sages have suggested as lessons that we may learn from this prohibition. What I do plan to discuss with you are the some of the details of הלכות שעטנז and how they apply in our time.

As always I ask that if you have ideas or suggestions both for these classes and future classes please write to me at [email protected]

Thank you

Stuart Fischman

Hello Everyone,

Today we will finish our overview of the laws of Shatnez by discussing the question surrounding the shoes made by the Uggs company and then we will examine the question of trying on clothes in a store when there is a possibility that the clothes contain Shatnez.

Thanks to everyone who participated in these classes.
