Praying Towards Jerusalem

Jews pray towards Jerusalem but what happens if you are lost and don’t know which way to turn? Furthermore, does all prayer need to be facing towards the holy city? Join Rabbi Dovid Fink as he explores the relevant halachot.
Praying Towards Jerusalem: Facing Yerushalayim when Praying
The two elements in facing Yerushalayim when praying do not always square with each other:
1. The direction your feet are facing.
2. The direction your head is facing.
Further, prayer while in motion (on a train, an airplane, a ship, or a donkey) might make it difficult to face the correct direction.
In this class we survey the primary sources dealing with these issues.
Sources are available through the link. In class we will translate and explain these sources.
