Laws of the Land
THIS IS A WEBYESHIVA.ORG HALACHA MASTERY PROGRAM COURSE BUT DOES NOT REQUIRE ACCEPTANCE TO THE HALACHA MASTERY PROGRAM. It is free for members of the Halacha Mastery Program or costs $25 for non-Halacha Mastery students.
In this course with Rabbi Fink we will learn the laws of the Land of Israel, including the laws of Truma, Ma’aser and Shmita.
Laws of the Land: Lesson 1
Fruits of the Seventh Year- Next year, beginning on Rosh Ha-Shana, is the Seventh Year in the Shmitta cycle in Israel. Fruits that grow in Israel during the Seventh Year have kedusha. This means that there are special mitsvot that apply to those fruits. In our first class, we will begin to study these special mitsvot so that you will know how to treat fruits of the Seventh Year without violating their kedusha. In addition to being one of Rabbi Brovender's first students, Rabbi Dovid Fink is an outstanding expertᅠand teacher of Halacha. Rabbi Fink received his Rabbinic ordination from ITRI and the Mir and was awarded his Ph.D in Semitic Languages and Linguistics from Yale University. Rav Fink has taught thousands of students from all over the world for over 35 years.
